The Right Cup™️ was first launched on Indiegogo (a crowdfunding platform) on Nov 2015. The campaign was a great success as it was successfully funded with 853% of the initial target.
As an innovative and groundbreaking product, The Right Cup™️ received vast international media coverage and together with the rise of digital channels, facilitating the sale and purchase of consumer goods, we have reached nearly every corner of the globe!
The online marketplaces have also opened the door for unauthorized copycats to reach a similarly wide range of consumers in their efforts to sell counterfeit versions of the cup. To ensure that consumers make the association between the counterfeit product and The Right Cup™️ the sellers of such counterfeits have copied the cup’s design, wordings, photos and the video clips associated with the cup and expressly identify the counterfeit cup as “The Right Cup™️”.
We’ve seen our cup being sold at a fraction of the price with extremely low quality (no sweetness and a very cheap raw materials), on AliExpress, Tmall, Lazada, Taobao, and even Amazon and Walmart!
Not only these knockoffs have killed our sales, making matters worse, our brand reputation was damaged when buyers, unhappy with the cheaper alternatives left bad reviews on social media channels without even knowing they purchased a counterfeit product.
Day by day, fakes popped up more quickly than they were taken down and, to our regret, after more than several years of research and development and another five years in the market, during 2020, we have decided to stop the production and the marketing of The Right Cup™️.
