Kinnimo’s clinically tested hair accessories combine natural essential oils commonly used in lice-related products – such as rosemary, eucalyptus, tea tree, and lavender – with advanced polymer technology. These ingredients are embedded directly into durable plastic, allowing the accessory to release a gentle, long-lasting scent during everyday use.
When the client first approached us, the concept was a small pin where drops of rosemary oil were applied manually. During evaluation, we identified several limitations: the oil could spill, stain, evaporate quickly, vary in dosage, and sometimes irritate the skin. It also required parents or children to keep adding drops regularly, which often doesn’t happen consistently.
After testing different approaches, we recommended moving to a scent-emitting polymer. By integrating the aromatic molecules directly into the material, the product becomes more stable and easier to use.
This solution provides clear advantages:
No liquid that can spill or stain
More stable and controlled scent release
Lower risk of skin irritation
The scent works automatically, so there is no need to add oil again and again
Better long-term consistency in daily use
The result is a hair accessory that gradually releases a pleasant aromatherapy scent that helps create an environment less attractive to lice for up to about 30 days, turning an everyday item into a simple, passive layer of protection.
